*Whew* Late Night!!

Well, last night was a very, very late night. :-(

Kyle woke up at about 11:30 last night crying. This escalated into all-out screaming!! He was so far gone he didn't want us to touch him or be near him. If we tried to hold him to calm him down, he would kick, scream, hit, push, yell "NO!" and squirm his way out until he was away from us. Then he just stood there and cried.

It was heartbreaking!

This went on for quite a while until we finally were able to get to sleep around 3:00am. NOT a fun night at the Carrington household. We tried Motrin, tried swabbing gums with Oragel, checked for scorpions in his crib (yes, he was crying THAT hard). You know it's got to be bad when he didn't even want to watch Thomas the Tank Engine!

Just to be on the safe side, we took him to his doctor's office this morning and they checked him out to make sure it wasn't an ear infection, some sort of sting or bite, or whatever. He does look like he's got some molars coming in, so that could be it, but there's no way to be sure that this was the problem.

This morning, he was mostly his normal, happy self (albeit a touch tempermental) and sang and danced with the Wiggles as we got ready for work. At the doctor's office, he played, jumped and did all the things a normal, happy child would do. (Yeah, he looked like a sick child, alright. They probably think we're crazy!)

All I can say is.... I hope tonight is better!

Having remembered reading something in Dr. Sears' "The Baby Book" a while ago about Night Terrors, I had forgotten all about it until about three or four people over the last few days brought up that idea.

I just finally looked it up again since I had forgotten the details of it, but it looks like this could very well be an explanation for the way Kyle was behaving.

So, thank you to the several of you who reminded me of this possibility. I think that may have been the issue.
