Disneyland '08 - Part III

And now, here we are at the second half of Day One!

After going through "It's a Small World" and walking around Toon Town, getting pictures taken with various characters and such, we headed over to some rides. As we went into Storybook Village, one of the first rides we saw was the Dumbo ride. Kyle seemed interested in it...until it started going around and he saw how high Dumbo was flying. After that, he was content to watch.

However, right next to the Dumbo ride was another ride. Three guesses as to which ride that was that excited him so much...

Yup! A train! Big surprise there!

Next, it was off to the carousel. He got to pick which horse he rode. How exciting!

At lunch, Mommy caved and got him a fantastically over-priced cup.
Of course, at Disneyland, cups like this do not give you cheaper refills. (Or any refills at all.)

One must always be sure to get the magical picture in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Daddy took Kyle back to the hotel for a nap. He was a bit tired.

Meanwhile, Mommy and Grandma visited the Lego store in Downtown Disney.
Who has time to build stuff like this? Forget how! I'm thinking how long?

The Magic of Christmas parade is always fun!

Here comes Santa Claus!!

I think the sleigh was about 20 feet high! Disney really knows how to do parade floats!

And so, we conclude our first day at Disneyland! It was a lot of fun. I'll have to get some of the video converted so we can post some footage of Kyle dancing in the street during a short break in the parade. He's got skills....mad skills!!

That about wrapped things up for the night. As you might imagine, it was great fun trying to make it through the post-parade crowd. Fortunately, we had taken a spot on the curb not far from the exit of the park, so we actually go out fairly quickly so we could get back to the hotel for bath and bedtime.

See you later for Day Two.
