A Day at the Zoo: Part 1

After a few days off, I'm now getting back into the thick of things. And so, here we are taking a look at Kyle's trip to the Phoenix Zoo last Sunday.

It was a great deal of fun! One of the best parts was getting there. Not until we were just about there did we realize that the PF Chang's Rock -n- Roll Marathon had the necessary roads blocked for us to get there. So, after a bit of driving around, we finally managed to get to the zoo!

Kyle was doing really great. He's just so darn cute (not that I'm biased or anything). I think he had a lot of fun. Take a look for yourself and see if you think so.

Kyle and Mommy getting a good look at the Savannah...complete with giraffes!

Had to do the "lift up the hat and pull down the shades" thing to get a better look at the animals. Just wait! 10 more years and he'll be doing this move to check out ladies!

Mommy and Kyle both look pretty cute, huh?

Kyle couldn't get to the elephant fast enough. Over a week later, he still remembers that her name is Reba. Crazy!

I didn't see how old this tortoise was, but there was another one that was like 150 years old or something like that.

Kyle poses with the resident iguana.

Al shows Kyle the other iguana, who is having lunch.

So Kyle watched him eat. I wonder if he was thinking, "Quite staring at me kid. Can't an iguana enjoy a meal in peace?"

Not that he's really doing much here but standing, since he just looks so cute, I thought I'd go ahead and post this one.

Kyle and Grandma.

Time for a snack. Popcorn, anyone?

Did that monkey just stick his tongue out at me?

Lunch time. This was the PB&J that he had asked for for breakfast when he first woke up and then didn't want once it was made. Instant conversion into "lunch."

He really liked the lemurs with the ringed tails. Yeah, it's OK if you think it's lame that I didn't come up with some cool, pithy comment for this one. I'm probably more disappointed than you are.

As with the trip to Disneyland, I'll have to break this up into a couple different posts. Not that Blogger has a problem with so many pictures in a single post, but you may recall that I did mention something about obsessive-compulsive tendencies. It is for this reason that I must not exceed a certain length in a given post.

So tomorrow, time-willing, I'll post the rest of the zoo pictures.

Until then...TTFN!
