Disneyland '08 - Part VII

I know what you're thinking....

How long does it take to post pictures of a three day trip to Disneyland? And.... where the heck have you been for the last couple weeks? I mean, seriously...nothing new since 12/30/08? What's going on here? We're all waiting for Christmas pictures and we're still not even done with the vacation pics from over a month ago! That's it...I'm canceling my subscription to this blog. It's run by a bunch of flakes!

I understand. I know how you feel. But I will warn you that, while I may not have been on top of things over the last couple weeks, there are sadly few other options for getting updates on Kyle and family. So, as bad as I've been, I'm the best you've got. :-)

Now that we've got all that out of the way, how about the rest of the pictures from Disneyland? (Which is probably why you're here anyway.) So, here we go...

Right after our breakfast with the various characters, we found a very tempting spot for more picture taking in the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel. As you can see, Kyle was very excited to have more pictures taken.

What a nice setting for a mother-daughter picture.

And, while they're busy posing, Kyle figures this would be a great opportunity to figure out what these presents are all around this tree!

Let's see if we can get the two-year old to smile for more pictures!

Nowadays, we don't get many pictures of just the two of us.

Kyle found a train (big surprise!) to keep him somewhat occupied.

Just about to head into Disney's California Adventure park!

Even more rare than pictures of just Mommy & Daddy are pictures of Mommy and Kyle together. A very rare treat!

Kyle is still very excited about having more pictures taken.

Sadly, these pictures don't include sound as Kyle is "toot-tooting" like a train. One day, we'll put video up here so you can witness the full effect of his train impersonations.

Kyle is enjoying watching people on the Grizzly River Run get soaked!

We had to stop for a banana break shortly after getting into the park.

Along the way, we found some live music with banjo, guitar and upright bass. No, we didn't get a picture of the band, but we do get to see how much Kyle loves live music of any kind.

It was some hand-clappin', toe-tappin', yee-hawin' kind of music!

Kyle and Grandma check out the boardwalk.

Kyle is very particular about what kind of sea creature he rides. It had to be the dolphin. No other fish would do. Perhaps it's a mammal thing.

Why limit Disneyland to only one enormous Christmas tree when you can have one in California Adventure, too?

Once again, Kyle is thrilled to be in his stroller and posing for pictures.

Kyle and Mommy going for a ride in the Bug's Life "neighborhood."

You can never have too many candid shots of toddlers in weird poses with odd looks on their faces. It's always good for teenage blackmail later in life.

Back in Tomorrowland, Kyle enjoyed the "Trash Can Trio" as they played drums with buckets, trash cans, dust pans, etc.

Kyle has his "drumsticks" (a.k.a plastic straws) with him as he contemplates his own opportunities for percussion.

At last! He's got it! He may not have trash cans or actual drums, but there are stone tiles on the ground all around us! Maybe if he keeps this up every year, people will gather around to see him play. We may have to figure out a way to amplify the sound of plastic straws on stone tiles or this will be merely a visual act.

Kyle and Daddy review some of today's footage from around the park.

So, there you have it. We have now (finally) come to the end of our Disneyland trip. We had a blast, as I'm sure you have seen. The trip home was full of entertainment value as well as we exited the plane and Kyle proceeded to thank anyone who was withing 20 feet of us on our way from the plane to baggage-claim and then out to the curb for Pop-pop to pick us up.

As if telling everyone "Thank you" wasn't enough, he had to include a somewhat generic, ambiguous hand-motion toward his "benefactors" to indicate to whom he was talking. While we had our hands too full to get pictures, I can assure you, we were laughing all the way to the car!

Now that we're done with this trip, perhaps I can start posting some more current pictures. Perhaps you're waiting to see how Kyle's Christmas went, for instance. Not to worry....all I have to do is get the pictures from Grandma and we'll get started on them ASAP.

For now, Happy New Year! It'll be a fun year for toddlerdom and we'll no doubt see Kyle getting more and more independent and get into many more things. I can't wait!!
