Ah-So!

Admittedly, that's a pretty corny title for a blog post. I mean, honestly. Who comes up with this stuff? You'd think that it was handed to me by one of the writers of "America's Funniest Videos" or something.

For those who don't know, there is a popular Japanese teppanyaki restaurant that we love going to called Ah-So! The food is great and it's so much fun watching the chefs cook and do all their tricks while they prepare your food. If you get a table with the right group of people, it can really be a blast!

The other night, we were there for dinner after church with me, Joelle, Kyle and Grandma. We were having fun watching the chef, protecting Kyle from the huge ball of fire that the chef created on the grill and soothing him after the chef made some sudden, very loud banging noise (and was immediately repremanded by the other people at the table for making a 2 year old cry).

You're probably reading this wonder when it's going to get interesting. I understand. I'm waiting for it, too. Patience is a virtue. I have to write more, first.

You may be familiar with the "child" chopsticks that are given to small children at some of these restaurants and this one was no different. They took out a pair of chopsticks, rolled up the paper they came in and placed it between on end and then wrapped the end of the chopsticks up with a rubber band to give to Kyle.

Within minutes, Kyle was using his chopsticks to pick up chicken, grapes, lettus and rice. After almost 39 years, I still can't use chopsticks unless I'm trying to bang out a groove from some old Outfield song on the glasses and plates. I've managed to perform some pretty cool drum solos with chopsticks and table settings.

So, I've written all that just so I could share a picture of him using his chopsticks to take a bite of chicken. He's such a big boy.

By the way, it should be said that, apart from the couple times the chef scared the daylights out of him, Kyle was extremely well-behaved and we got lots of compliments from the other people at the table about how good he was and, of course, how cute.

I'd also like to applaud you if you're reading this part. I expected most people to move on after seeing the picture, but you are apparantly one of those people with obssessive-compulsive tendancies who have to read all the way to the bottom of everything. Even all the little stuff about Feedburner in small print. Crazy. But, I'm glad you came.

More pictures to come soon!
