When we last left our toddler, he had just been kicking over a bunch of colored cones that were spread all over the floor. I can tell you, after that, things got even more exciting. Check out what happened next!
After kicking the cones down, the next phase was to put them back upright. But there was a catch! You couldn't use your hands! The tension was so thick you could have cut it with a spoon! How in the world do we get these cones back up without using our hands?! Use your foot, put it on the edge of the cone and pull it back toward you. Come on! You know you want to go get some cones and try it for yourself. Go ahead. It won't hurt anything.
Finally! Let's get to the "Clean Monkey" part of the game. This was the part Kyle was looking forward to. If there was a cone still on the floor, that little boy was all over it! Leave no cone uncollected. I guess we should be pretty happy that he's like that. Still, it's fun to pick on.
Now for some coordination exercises. The crab walk. Ok, so Kyle didn't really get that you're supposed to lift up your bottom off the floor. I still was pretty impressed that he made such a good effort. And I got to practice my crab walk, too! Bonus!
*Whew* Crab-walked all the way across the gym. Wave to Mommy!
Yes, he's making a weird face and you're probably wondering why I posted this pic. One possible answer is "abject humiliation." But honestly I think this look was the result of the crab-walking. All the balancing and transferring control from one side of the brain to the other had his nervous system all messed up. I can't prove that, medically, but still. That's my story.
We weren't supposed to go through here yet. What can you do? He's two!
This was part of the obstacle course. They had to walk the balance beam. Or next to it. That's fine, too. Whatever works. So, as exciting as all these pictures were, next time we'll be posting more pics of the obstacle course in all it's obstaclation. (Two new words in one post! I'm really in the zone today.) Fraught with danger and death-defying challenges around every foam-covered corner, it was a very exciting part of the morning. (Not to worry. No children or animals were harmed while participating in this event.)
Come back tomorrow and see the thrilling continuation of the Super Soccer Star!
