Super Soccer Star: Part III

Here it is! The moment you've been waiting for. I'll give you a moment to collect yourself, sit down, take a few deep, relaxing, cleansing breaths and then we'll get moving with the pictures. Let's not rush it. No scrolling down recklessly in an effort to beat the system.

To recap, we've now seen Kyle do some preliminary stretching exercises, learn a little about the "soccer stop," and kicking cones around then picking them back up with his feet. You've seen him do the "crab walk" and even make some funny faces.

Now, let's see how well he does in the deadly Obstacle Course of Doom! (Be advised that this is not the official name of the obstacle course used by Soccer Tots, Llc. and any similarity between their obstacle course and what I describe could be highly exaggerated. Soccer Tots, Llc. is not directly or legally responsible for any of the nonsense that I write on this blog.)
Up and over the slide. Thank goodness he's not afraid of heights!

Couldn't get his back foot up and over in time, so he gets a little assistance from the coach!

In one end...

...and out the other. Doesn't that look fun? Usually he sits somewhere in the middle and won't come out either end. I'd say this could be considered a breakthrough.

Hopping over the ladder rungs! What a great shot! Mommy snapped a great picture while he was still airborne. Given that he only get's about three inches off the ground (and gravity seems to be working as well as it usually does) I'm very impressed that she got him in the air.

Next, we step on all of these little foamy, squishy, plasticish, half-ball, semi-sphere, numbered, colored thingie-do's. I think that's the technical name for them, but I can't be certain about the "foamy" part.

Because of the brightness of the room, it's very difficult to see the fact that the hoops they were jumping through had a small, bluish flame that was burning at about 1,500 degrees. Oddly, the little foam things holding the hoops upright somehow escaped being incinerated.

Back over the slide. I think I put the balance beam walking thingie in the last post.

Unfortunately, what we did not get any good pictures of was the fact that, after getting through the obstacle course, if a given child were to make it out alive, they got to kick their soccer ball into the goal before tempting fate once again. It was difficult to get a shot of that, though, as there were too many children gathered around the goals. Personally, I think they were stalling so that they wouldn't have to face "the gauntlet" again so soon. (Kyle went through at least twice, though. That's my boy!)

For those of you who are enjoying the pictures, fear not! There are more to come. There were a decent number of children who survived this grueling test of stamina and endurance and made it to the very end of the class. More of those pictures....coming up next time.

TTFN!
