Friday afternoon, we headed over to Disney's California Adventure theme park for the parade. We managed to find a good location with available benches so we could all sit down and relax...at least while we waited.
The boys did great and I think they really liked the parade. It was very cute.
The first thing we saw was the float with the characters from the upcoming Disney Pixar movie, "Up." That was the way the parade was getting kicked off. What we didn't realize was that it would be about 20 to 30 minutes later before then next float came. We almost started to wonder if that was the entire parade and it was over.

When the "real" parade started, it led off with none other than Lightning McQueen driving through the park. He looked really fast. His engine rumbled and you almost could sense that he just wanted to peel out and race through the park in six seconds or less. Nate especially like seeing him. He thought it was way cool!

The next float we saw was from "Monsters, Inc." although I'm not sure if either of the boys have seen that movie. Nonetheless, it was a pretty cute float and, like many of the floats that came by, was capable of spraying the viewing audience with streams of water. It took a couple of floats like this before I figured out where the water was coming from. I'm not that bright.

Then, on some nifty little scooters, came one of Kyle's new favorites, The Incredibles. They were riding around on these little scooters and waving to everyone.
Unlike many of the other floats and attractions, this particular one did not seem to be of the water-shooting variety. Regardless, I want to know where to get one of these cool (pronounced "geeky") scooters.

After the other Incredibles came by, the little one came by on the big robot octopus thing. If I had ever actually seen the movie, I might know the correct "lingo" so I would know what it's called. But for now, if you've seen the movie, you probably know what the big robot octopus thing is. If not, it really doesn't matter. Just enjoy the picture and we'll move on to the next thing.

Next, we had the world of Nemo. Another Pixar movie that I have yet to watch. Though I did get to see a bit of it when we got home and gave Kyle a bath.
While we were winding down, "Finding Nemo" was just starting on TV. I'm pretty sure when you stay at the Disneyland Hotel, every single channel has something Disney-related playing at all times of day.

A Bug's Life was coming up next. At least this one was a movie I had seen. It was a pretty neat float. And, yes, it was one of the water squirting variety so everyone was getting nice and cooled off.
This particular float had lots of nifty moving parts and stuff, so it was pretty cool. One thing that Disney is very good at is making some really amazing floats. These things are no joke!

Then we saw the Toy Story float. Not only did this squirt water but it had a guy spinning around a horizontal bar like it was an Olympic event. Of course, a Disney parade is about on par with an Olympic event.
After a bit, a young lady took the other horizontal bar to give this guy a break. Only Disney.

Bringing up the rear of the parade was none other than Mater. As in "tuh-mater" but without the "tuh." I don't recall if he squirted water, but I'm pretty sure he didn't. He was just happy to be there.
After the parade we headed back to Disneyland park for more fun. Keep coming back, as more pictures from Disneyland will be coming soon.
TTFN!
