It Ain't Easy Bein' Green (In Arizona)

After a lot of hard work by a lot of people, our yard has been completely tranformed. After the first two weeks of having to water like crazy, we were finally at the point where we could start using our yard. How exciting is that!?

So, just so people can get some idea of the how the fruits of all our labor turned out, here we are just two weeks after our sod was first laid down. Take a look at how nice and green everything is! Not a color we're used to around here.

This is pre-mow. After two week, the grass has really taken root and grown. In fact, it's already looking a little over-grown and shabby.

And there are all those stupid pods all over from the mesquite trees.

And so it was time for the maiden voyage of our brand new lawn mowers...both Daddy's and Kyle's. We didn't want to trim it too low the first time. Next week, we'll go a little bit lower.

Once it was all done, it looked a whole lot nicer...and a lot less raggedy.

Looking good!
So, now begins what will be a weekly ritual of mowing and trimming and such. Also, keep your eyes on some of the tree branches as you'll be seeing some of those disappearing over the course of the next few weeks or so, too. Little by little, step by step, this yard is starting to look better and better!
TTFN!

I'm Jealous! The back patio of my Condo doesn't have quite so much green...

Very nice Dan. You can come work on mine any time -- you do good work!

Thanks!

Although, I think I'll wait until I cut back on the watering and see what kind of green I get then. My guess is, as much water as it's getting helps it stay this green, but that won't last. I can't afford it. :-)
